Building Web Connections - Training Materials
Building Web Connections > WebGUI Training Materials > WebGUI Training - Add More Pages
Step 1
Before you add more pages, you need to make sure that you are at your group's home page.
To get there, go to http://www2.povnet.org/ and click on your group's name.
Any other pages you make should go directly under this page.
So, if you're adding any other pages, first make sure that you are looking at your first page.
Step 2
If you're not already logged on, enter your username and password in the boxes at the top-right hand corner of the page.
In the top right, it will now say
Hello [username]. Click here to log out.
Click on your username, then click on Turn admin on.
Step 3
Go to the Add
content menu in the top left of the page.
Click the down arrow to
the right of Add content.
Choose
Page from the drop-down menu.
An Edit Page screen like the one below will appear.
Some Key Features:
Title Give your page a meaningful name. This name will appear in the title bar of a user's web browser.
eg, PovNet's Favourite Cookie Recipes
Menu Title This name will appear in the page tree menu, and also in any site map or crumb trail. It's a good idea to use the same name you chose for Title.
eg, PovNet's Favourite Cookie Recipes
Page URL This forms part of the URL or address of your page. It should be a short form of your title. There must not be any spaces. Type in everything that should show after www2.povnet.org
eg, povnetcookies
or povnet/cookies
You will need this information later. On a piece of paper, write down the URL.
Other Features
Don't worry too much about the other features. If you're interested in finding out more about these features, talk to your Building Web Connections contact person.
What Next?
You're almost done creating your page.
First, click on Layout at the top of the page, then follow the instructions in Step 5 below.

Step 5
Layout
Click on the arrow to the right of Layout to choose a layout from the drop-down menu.
PovNet can add your logo to your page. If you already have a logo in an electronic or print version, we can add that to your page. Ask your PovNet contact for details.
Templates
You can divide your web page into different sections. The default page has only one section.
When you choose another template, for example Side by Side or Three Over One, you will see a little diagram of how the page will be divided.
When you're finished, click on the Save button
