Using a Message Board in WebGUI

Reading a Message

To read a message (and all the replies to it), click on the underlined message title under the Subject column.

To read the latest reply to a message, click on the underlined message title in the Last Reply column.

To search for a message on a topic, click on Search

Posting a Message

To start a message on a new subject, click on Start a New Thread.

A Post a Message window like the one below will appear. Note that you may have different options, depending on how your message board is set up.

Some options you may see are:

Name Enter your name here. Note that if users have to log on to your web site, they will not see this box.

Subject Enter a subject for your message.

Message Enter the text of your message in this box.

Subscribe to Thread Click yes if you would like to be sent an e-mail when someone responds to your message.

Moving From Thread to Thread

When you're reading a message, you have lots of options to get to other messages on the Message Board

Back to Thread List will move you back to the list of subjects

Go to Previous Thread will move you to the thread posted immediately before the current thread

Go to Next Thread will move you to the thread posted immediately after the current thread

Click on Start a New Thread to start your own message on a new subject
