Members of the KICNS:

  • Support the Northern Self Advocacy Conference, the Community Response Network and the Special Olympics In Prince Rupert.
  • Strive daily to increase community awareness of the capabilities and needs of those with disabilities.
  • Advocate for the inclusion of all people in the Prince Rupert Area, providing people with disabilities and their families with advocacy support when needed.
  • Are involved in the School Board Advisory Committee, helping people with developmental disabilities make positive transitions while completing high school.
  • Provide citizens with information regarding new Adult Guardianship Legisiation, and Path(Positive Alternative Tomorrow's with Hope) facilitation

 

 

Kaien Island Community Networking Society has been around  since Dec 12, 2001 before that we were called Kaien Island Association For Community Living.
