Land Acknowledgement

PovNet gratefully and respectfully acknowledges that our work spans across 198 First Nations and 37 Métis chartered communities in what is currently known as British Columbia.  We acknowledge that our office is based on the traditional territory of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.  Our staff acknowledge that they work from the traditional territories of the K’ómoks First Nation and Syilx (Okanagan) Peoples respectively.

We acknowledge traditional Indigenous territory as a way of showing respect to the Peoples on whose territory we are guests.  We do it to pay tribute to the Peoples who have been on these lands since time immemorial, including present day.

Our team is familiar with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada: Calls to Action, and has applied the Call to Action 92)iii, Indigenous cultural safety training for staff.  We will continue to seek out opportunities to be part of the Reconciliation process as lead by Indigenous people.
